Ask any serious photographer about what point and shoot camera to get and they will, without batting an eye, tell you to buy the Panasonic Lumix LX3.
That answer changes today as Panasonic announces the LUMIX DMC-LX5. Dubbed by many as the ultimate point and shoot camera, the Lumix LX5 doesn’t look much different from its hugely popular sibling, the Lumix LX3.
Now equipped with a 24mm wide angle Leica lens and a much improved image processor, the Lumix LX5 offers photo enthusiasts the ideal camera for capturing professional-quality photos and High Definition (HD) video.
The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX5 will be available in late-August 2010 for a suggested retail of $499.95 and will be available in black and white models.

after going the price conversion it’s reasonably affordable, minus the bulk of having to carry around a heavy dslr camera.
