Globe Telecom, which is currently embarking on a $700-million mobile network modernization program, held an amazing city-wide adventure race around Davao to highlight its radically faster and greatly improved mobile network.

The #GlobeAmplified race involved seven teams of three players composed mostly of print media and bloggers from Manila and Davao. The teams raced to various pitstops around the city to perform fun tasks which included solving clues, zip lining, and zorbing among others.

Equipped with iPhone 4S smartphones, each of the racers utilized Globe’s super fast and pervasive 3G network to communicate with other team members, tweet photos, post status updates on Facebook, and check in on various locations using Foursquare.
Mark Sablan of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Eric Losloso of Business Mirror, and I finished 4th in the race which was held in partnership with AirPhil Express and the Department of Tourism.
