It’s a busy Wednesday for Apple fans all over the world as OS X Lion finally becomes available for download at the Mac App Store. With over 250 new features and enhancements, the UNIX-based Operating System from Cupertino sells for 29.99 and is available via digital download only although Apple announced plans to sell a bootable USB flash disk installer next month.
Also announced today are upgraded MacBook Airs pre-installed with Mac OSX Lion 10.7 and equipped with Thunderbolt I/O ports and Sandy Bridge processors from Intel which feature powerful cores fast enough to play modern games. Mac minis were also refreshed with up to 2x faster processors, Thunderbolt I/O ports and HD graphics. Notably missing in the feature list, however, are the longstanding SuperDrives.
