Gingerbread Update for LG Optimus One Almost Ready

LG has released a video of an Optimus One handset running the official Gingerbread ROM.

In the video description, LG said that the Gingerbread update will arrive this summer.

The Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update brings numerous enhancements to Google’s mobile operating system including a redesigned virtual keyboard, tighter UI elements, and improved touch response.

UPDATE (July 13, 2011): The official Android Gingerbread (2.3.3) update for LG Optimus One phones have started rolling out in Romania and Russia early this month. According to an LG Philippines representative, Optimus One users in the Philippines will receive the Android Gingerbread (2.3.3) update in August.

UPDATE (August 9, 2011): A representative from LG Electronics Philippines, Inc said that the update for LG Optimus One users in the Philippines has been pushed back to September as the company is still field testing the Gingerbread update.
