Sony has just made official the PlayStation Portable’s second iteration. Dubbed as the “Next Generation Portable,” the PSP 2 rocks a 5-inch OLED touchscreen with 960×544 resolution — that’s 4x the resolution of current PSPs.
Equally drool-worthy are its dual analog sticks, front and rear cameras, 3G and WiFi connectivity, GPS, front and rear touchpads, motion sensors, and electronic compass.
Powering this beast is a quad-core Cortex-A9 CPU. Ably taking graphics chores is also a quad-core Imagination Technologies PowerVR SGX543MP4+ GPU.
The Sony PSP 2 will become available late this year in time for the holiday season.
