LG’s fastest-selling Android smartphone, with over two million units sold, will be getting the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update according to a statement released by LG.
LG earlier announced on its facebook page that it won’t be possible to upgrade the Optimus One handsets due to a processor limitation which was quickly debunked by Android lead developer Dan Morrill who twitted, “there’s no hard minimum processor requirement for Gingerbread. Trust me, if there were I’d know.”
The Android 2.3 Gingerbread update brings numerous enhancements to Google’s mobile operating system including a redesigned virtual keyboard, tighter UI elements, and improved touch response.
