Apple® today unveiled its revamped iPod lineup with top of the line model, the iPod touch®, getting new features which include Retina Display, A4 chip, FaceTime Video Calling, HD Video Recording & Game Center.
The 8 GB model sells for ₱ 12,490.00 while the 32 GB and 64 GB models retail at ₱ 15,990.00 and ₱ 21,990.00 respectively at the Philippine Online Apple Store.
Meanwhile, the redesigned iPod shuffle® features both clickable “ring” buttons and Apple’s innovative VoiceOver technology, allowing users to easily navigate their music and playlists without ever looking at their iPod shuffle®. The new wearable iPod shuffle® has an all-aluminum enclosure with a built-in clip and comes in five brilliant colors—silver, blue, green, orange and pink.
With nearly 50 percent more battery life, the new iPod shuffle features over 15 hours of continuous music playback on a single battery charge and offers 2GB of storage for just ₱ 2,490.00.
A completely redesigned iPod nano® featuring Apple’s Multi-Touch™ interface was also unveiled today. Retailing at ₱ 7,990.00 for the 8 GB model and ₱ 9,790.00 for the 16 GB model, the iPod nano® is nearly half the size and weight of the previous generation and now boasts the ability to create and edit playlists, a built-in FM radio with live pause and up to 24 hours of music playback on a single battery charge.
Riding on the popularity of social networking sites, Apple® also announced Ping, the social network for music. Built right into iTunes 10 and all iOS devices, Ping enables users to follow their favorite artists and friends to discover what music they’re talking about, listening to and downloading. iTunes Ping lets users post thoughts and opinions, “like” albums and songs, share information on the music they’ve downloaded from iTunes, and view concert listings as well as update friends on which concerts they plan to attend.
iTunes 10 with Ping is available for download at http://www.apple.com/itunes/.
Now smaller and cheaper at $99, the redesigned Apple TV offers hassle-free streaming of content from Netflix, YouTube, Flickr and MobileMe™, as well as music, photos and videos from PCs and Macs to any HD TV.
It also enables users to rent TV shows from ABC, ABC Family, Fox, Disney Channel and BBC America for just 99 cents. HD movie rentals for new releases are $4.99.
